Yesterday was my visit for my trip to the former place of the World Trade Center and the new building site. I saw parts of the new WTC1 on my last trip, but this time the memorial place was opened to public (Museum will open on 9/11/12 with a huge exhibition).

For me, it was depressing feeling – when I was younger and we went to New York, it was always the tradition to go on WTC platform first. Now you stand there, where about 3,000 people died in minutes after these horrible attacks.

You have to pre-register and order your tickets online without any costs and gt the tickets by email. Just show your tickets, pass security controls and you are allowed to enter.

In my opinion the place is really impressing and a must-visit-place in New York as you can see on the pictues below. I did it twice, in the morning and short before closing in the afternoon, as I wanted to see the lights.

Für mich war es ein bedrückendes Gefühl – als ich jünger war, gehörte es immer zu den ersten Dingen auf der NYC-Liste, die Aussichtsplattform zu besuchen. Jetzt steht man dort, wo innerhalb kürzester Zeit fast 3.000 Menschen getötet wurden.

Ihr benötigt zum Besuch der Gedenkstätte Tickets, die Ihr vorab online bestellen könnt und ohne Kosten per Email erhaltet. Danach nur noch Tickets am Einlass vorzeigen, Sicherheitskontrollen (wie am Flughafen) passieren und Ihr könnt die Gedenkstätte betreten.

Meiner Meinung nach ist das 9/11-Memorial wirklich sehr gelungen und ein Pflichtbesucht in New York, wie man auf den Fotos sehen kann. Ich habe es einmal im Morgen gemacht und war am Nachmittag noch einmal da, da ich die Beleuchtung sehen wollte.

Immigration and getting the luggage was really quick, but the shuttle service needed about 90 minutes from JFK-Airport to Midtown-Manhattan. Next time I take the taxi again.

So you will receive the first pictures of Times Square already by night, but wanted to show you all – I arrived safely and had a quick coffee at Starbucks @ Times Square.

I wrote a few days ago that I cannot wait to go to New York again. I love the city, the possibilities and also the great places, shops and clubs. Whenever you go to New York – you find something new.

For me it is great to visit cities living 24hours, so when you feel the jetlag and wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning, you can go to Times Square or other spots for an early breakfast in the morning.

I took the flight this morning from Munich Airport (MUC – gate H14) to New York – John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) operated by Lufthansa (flight LH410) and it was really interesting to see that most business people fly economy class now. I cannot understand the policy by Lufthansa – offering flights for 400€ in economy (including taxes) and for a business class ticket (without flatbeds) they want to charge you between 3.000 and 4.000€ – so business class was nearly empty, economy class filled by 70%. Usually I fly business class but if they offer the flight for 39€ plus 360€ taxes – you can better fly twice to New York before wasting the money for a business class fare.

The service on board was o.k. – typical Lufthansa and not to compare with Etihad or Emirates, Thai Airways or Singapore Airways, but what to expect for 400€.

I am currently writing this somewhere between Iceland and Greenland and have 5 hours remaining flight time. Usually I wanted to post this text online, as Lufthansa offers on most of their longhaul intercontinental flights between Europe and North America internet access (Lufthansa-Flynet) for a small fee and I wanted to try it, but it won’t work in the whole plane, so you have to receive these news, when I am in NYC.

The schedule for my next days in New York is filled with a lot of things I want to do and visit – starting with a  a trip to the 9/11 memorial, which was open in September last year and is a must-to-visit spot for me, before going elsewhere. When I was younger it was tradition to take the first subway down to World Trade Center and going to the platform for a first impression of the city again.

Before grabbing the last things for my next trip I checked my emails this morning and found an interesting email by Lufthansa with their offers for flights to Asia and especially when you see all the snow outside, the temperatures deep below zero – you wanted to go to a sunnier place and I took a look on the pictures of my trip to Bangkok some time ago.

It is such an amazing city with the combination of great culture and wonderful buildings and wonderful and very very friendly people, wherever you go. It is hard to find a big city, so different – but still wonderful.

So if you are not able to go to Bangkok by Lufthansa, you might enjoy a little bit of the first part of my pictures of Bangkok from the past. I will share more pictures with you shortly. At the end of the pictures, you will also find a small videoclip showing my view from the hotelroom to famous Chao Phraya river…

Es ist so eine faszinierende und schöne Stadt, die Kombination von toller Kultur und wunderschönen Bauwerken, dazu sehr sehr freundliche Menschen, wohin man auch immer geht. Es ist schwer eine Großstadt zu finden, die so unterschiedlich – aber absolut wunderbar ist.

Falls Ihr auch die Gelegenheit des Fluges mit Lufthansa nach Asien, oder auch besonders nach Bangkok, nicht nutzen könnt, hoffe ich das Euch die Bilder aus Bangkok vom letzten Aufenthalt gefallen. Finally back from my trip to Cologne, Dusseldorf and the Ruhr Area for a few business meetings and now time again for writing my blog. I am sorry for the delay of updates, but time were too limited for another update.

Today I wanted to share a few pictures from the Cologne Cathedral “Der Kölner Dom” and from the river Rhine, taken in Dusseldorf with me wearing a black dress with Wolford tights and new ankle boots. The weather during these days in Cologne and Dusseldorf was amazing – clear blue sky and warm temperatures in the sunlight.

Das Wetter in diesen Tagen war einfach traumhaft – klarer blauer Himmel und warme Temperaturen in der Sonne.

London was the perfect spot during the last months for me for a lot of days and one of the main reasons was, the absolutely brilliant hotel. My choice was again the W Hotel Leicester Square – 10 Warden Street – really close to Picadilly Circus with a lot of attractions and not so far away from the Theaters and on the opposite site, Regent Street, Oxford Street and Bond Street.

This new W hotel opened on Feb. 14th, 2011, so everything is really brand new. One of the biggest advantages for me, next to a great location is always the staff of the house and the service and support they give to you during your stay.

Rooms in London are not the biggest and rates are still very high (and might get higher the weeks before the Olympic games 2012), but you will feel really comfortable. Their front desk is located on the first floor (so you have to pick up the elevator first) and will find their bar and club also located on this floor. You will get access to the upper floors only with your key card, which I really appreciate.

The W-Hotel Leicester Square is very popular in London for their nightlife, so if you come back from a restaurant, you will find lines in front, to get access to the hotel-club or bar (as hotelguest you can pass the lines and get direct access to every event). Food and drinks is a little bit W-typical very high, but you have so many opportunities in the neighbourhood for great dining and breakfast in the morning, you will not miss ist.

Comparing with other hotels in London – the concierge service the W-Hotel Leicester Square offers to you – is amazing. If you request tickets for sport events, concerts, musicals, etc. in advance – just contact the hotel by email and they will keep you updated frequently about your tickets (I did it with my Rihanna tickets for the O2-Arena in London and it worked perfectly – not the result I had with Xchange24.ch tickets from Zurich for the Rihanna concert in Zurich where tickets were “lost”!)

So if you want to spend a few real great days in London, you know where to stay… I can strongly recommend the W-Hotel Leicester Square in London – close to Picadilly Circus, to everyone looking for a special location, great nightlife and a perfect 24-hour-service.

I cannot wait to go back to London within the next months, but I am absolutely sure, where to stay…! W Hotel Leicester Square in London – and I always love these small gifts on the room, when I arrive (displayed this time a bottle of champagne, etc.).

I finally found the time to browse through the London pictures again and wanted to share a few special pictures of me in front of the London Eye by night. It was really great to visit the London Eye by night – I already did it by day and had a wonderful experience, to see London from the top – but visiting it by night is magnificient.

The London Eye with all the blue lights, the christmas decorations, the ice skating area in front of it and the chance to have a great spot of London you can visit every time you visit London.

During Christmas time London Eye was really beautiful, the combination of the amazing attraction, the christmas decorations everywhere and these small eyecatchers (you find on my previous posting) to discover.

I will try to show you more pictures of the London eye and me on my night tour of London during the next days.

Es war wirklich schön, dass London Eye noch einmal bei Nacht zu besuchen – ich habe es bereits mehrfach am Tage gemacht und auch London so von oben gesehen – aber in der Nacht wirkt es magisch…

Das London Eye mit der blauen Beleuchtung, der Weihnachtsdekoration, der Eislauffläche davor und die Möglichkeit einen tollen Blick auf London zu haben – ist einfach ein Grund immer wieder zu kehren.

Während der Weihnachtszeit ist das London Eye besonders schön, die Kombination der Sehenswürdigkeit mit der Weihnachtsdekoration und den kleinen Eyecatchern überall (findet Ihr bereits in einem weiteren Posting) zu entdecken macht einfach Spass.

Ich werde versuchen, noch ein paar weitere Fotos vom London Eye und meiner Nachttour durch London in den nächsten Tagen hochzuladen.

Da ich häufiger auf der Suche nach einem guten Hotel in Los Angeles bin und dieses manchmal gar nicht so einfach zu finden ist, ob wohl die Hotelketten, wie Starwood, Hyatt oder Hilton einige Hotels zur Auswahl haben – aber leider ist auch die Qualität von vielen Unterkünften mehr als dürftig.

Umso erfreulicher war es, als ich durch eine Terminänderung und einem früheren Meeting in Los Angeles eher von Las Vegas wieder zurückkommen musste, ein schönes Zimmer und einen tollen Service im W Hotel Hollywood, 6250 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028 zu finden.

Das W-Hotel liegt in mitten der Entertainment-Hauptstadt Hollywood und war nur wenige Gehminuten von einigen Geschäftspartnern und Produzenten für besondere Kleidung und ausgefallene High-Heels entfernt. Die ideale Kombination von besonderen Restaurants, Kultur und Unterhaltung am Abend, sowie dem glorreichen Walk of Fame direkt vor der Tür oder dem Grauman’s Chinese Theatre mit den bekannten Fuss- und Handabdrücken vieler Stars und dem Kodak Theatre – bekannt für die Verleihung des Filmoscars.

Das W-Hotel verfügt über einen tollen Empfang an einer Seitenstraße des Hollywood Blvd., mit einem sehr aufmerksamen und höflichen Parkservice. Die kleine Reception befindet sich direkt gegenüber des “The Living Room”, einer gemütlichen Lobby-Lounge des Hotels zum bequemen Sitzen, Beobachten oder auch Chillen am späten Abend mit netten Cocktails und kleinen Speisen.

Die verschiedenen Zimmer zwischen 37qm und 150qm bieten für jeden Wunsch alles erdenkliche und darüberhinaus eine wunderbare Aussicht. Mein Zimmer bot eine schöne Sicht auf das Hollywood Sign, auf das berühmte Griffinth Observatory, den Walk of Fame und Downtown Los Angeles. Viele Zimmer verfügen über die außerordentlich breiten Fensterbänke, die als zusätzliche Liegeflächen gepolstert sind und auch in der Nacht einen tollen Blick über Los Angeles bieten.

Das überaus junge, aber sehr zuvorkommende Personal, ist natürlich sowohl im Wellness-Bereich, wie auch am Swimming-Pool (auf dem Dach) mit Cabanas oder im Nachtclub vertreten – jeder Wunsch wird umgehend erfüllt. Hier passt der Slogan von W Hotels “Whatever, whereever, whenever” wirklich absolut.

Werde gerne einmal wieder japanisch essen möchte, und einmal wieder Lust auf Shabu Shabu hat, findet ca. 10 Minuten entfernt – Koji’s Sushi, einen sehr günstigen, aber guten Japaner, mit einem jungen, aber sehr gemischten Publikum – gute Stimmung und guter Service garantiert (Ausführlicher Bericht folgt)

Wer sich geschäftlich im Großraum Los Angeles aufhalten darf (oder muss), für den sei der gute Business-Center erwähnt oder auch das zuverlässige Personal des Hotels, Terminvorgaben und Bereitstellung von Informationen oder Fahrzeugen werden mehr als pünktlich eingehalten.

Für mich sicherlich nicht der letzte Aufenthalt im W Hotel Hollywood.

This is the second part of pictures of my trip to London, UK a few days before christmas. It was really wonderful to see all the christmas decorations in the evening and to walk around – starting at 10.30pm and visit all the attractions again – (e.g. London Eye with the iceskating ring, Big Ben with Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and finally back to Picadilly Circus and Regent Street).

Cities will have such a beautiful style by night – you cannot compare with regular days, full of people and tourists, so if you have the chance to visit in the late evening, I can recommend to do so.

Pictures with my outfit of the night will follow, but this time I decided not for the highest high heel… :-)

Solche Städte haben einen wundervollen Stil in der Nacht – man kann es nicht mit tagsüber vergleichen – voll gedrängt mit Menschen und Touristen, wenn Ihr also einmal die Chance habt, besucht die Städte mal am späten Abend…

Before christmas I had the opportunity to visit the world famous castle “Schloss Fuschl” near Salzburg, Austria for a wonderful day. This old castle was built in the 14th century and has hosted archbiships, empresses and film stars.

I had to luck to receive one of the amazing tower suites with an imcomparable elegance. The flair of an old castle mixed with modern technique (as WLAN everywhere in the house), brilliant restaurants and great bar. The Schloss Fuschl is also famous for the wellness area, as well as for the movie “Sissi” and the “Sissy Museum”.

To visit such a  location close before christmas, with snow everywhere and the beautiful shining emerald Fuschlsee directly in front of your window creates special motion for holiday season.

When you enter the the castle over the hill and have a beautiful view over lake Fuschl and the castle with all the buildings, it will be love on the first sight. I will show you the first pictures taken outside Schloss Fuschl, before showing you my room during the next days with a special videoclip on my youtube channel.

If you have the opportunity to visit Schloss Fuschl, you will forget everything around you and start thinking and enjoying the moment. Hope you like the pictures..

Translate: Vor Weihnachten hatte ich noch einmal die Möglichkeit, das weltberühmte “Schloss Fuschl” in der Nähe von Salzburg, Österreich für einen wundervollen Abend zu besuchen. Das alte Schloss wurde im 14. Jahrhundert gebaut und beherbergte bereits Erzbischöfe, Kaiser und Kaiserinnen, sowie berühmte Filmstars.

Ich hatte das Glück, eine der wunderschönen Tower Suites mit einer unvergleichbaren Eleganz zu erhalten. Der Flair des alten Schlosses, gemixt mit moderner Technik (WLAN überall kostenlos im Haus), brillianten Restaurants und einer tollen gemütlichen Bar. Schloß Fuschl ist ebenso berühmt für den Wellness-Bereich, genauso wie als Drehort für die “Sissi”-Filme und das “Sissi-Museum”.

Eine solche Location vor Weihnachten zu beuschen, Schnee überall und der tolle glänzende Fuschlsee direkt vom Fenster aus zu sehen, bringt eine besondere Stimmung für die Weihnachtszeit.

Wenn man das Schloß über den Hügel betritt und eine tolle Sicht auf das Schloß, sowie den See und die Berge dahinter hat, ist es wohl automatisch Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Ich werde Euch zunächst die Fotos von Außen vom Schloß zeigen, bevor ich Euch Fotos von meinem Raum mit einem besonderen Videoclip bei Youtube zeigen werden.

Solltet Ihr einmal die Möglichkeit haben, Schloß Fuschl zu beuschen, werdet Ihr alles um Euch herum vergessen und jeden einzelnen Moment genießen. Ich hoffe Euch gefallen die Fotos…
