I cannot believe how Munich changed during the last days and only one date is important – Saturday May 19th, 2012 – 20:45 – Champions League Final. For the first time in history of Champions League the host team is also part in the final (and it is my team)
Yesterday evening I had a chance to take a look on the new illuminated Allianz Arena with the offical colors and just want to share the first impressions with you. When you go to the city, most people wearing traditional red and white shirts (for their hometeam) and cannot wait till it start.
For all international readers, it is expected to have a total of 500,000 – 750,000 guests in the city for this weekend, hotels are sold out for weeks, 50 extra planes with about 40,000 English supporters will arrive in the morning at Munich Airport (comparable to Super Bowl in the USA, but with the hometeam as host…). 1.500.000 tickets requests were send to the hometeam and only 17.500 tickets are in the lottery – so public viewing everywhere… more about this and more pictures later.

Gestern Abend hatte ich die Chance einen neuen Blick auf die Allianz Arena zu werfen, mit den offiziellen Farben für das Finale und die ersten Eindrücke mich Euch zu teilen. Wenn Ihr momentan in die Stadt geht, seht Ihr viele Menschen direkt in rot/weiss (für das Heimatteam) und ich kann auf den Start auch nicht mehr warten…
Für meine internationalen Leser, es werden zwischen 500,000 – 750,000 Gäste in der Stadt, Hotels sind seit Wochen ausgebucht, 50 Extraflugzeuge sind alleine heute früh in München eingetroffen mit ca. 40,000 englischen Fans (alles also vergleichbar mit dem Superbowl Hype in den USA, aber dieses Mal mit dem Heimatteam als Ausrichter..) – 1.500.000 Kartenanfragen nur beim Heimteam und nur 17.500 Karten in der Verlosung… daher Public Viewing überall (Olympiastadion, Theresienwiese, etc.)… weitere Fotos im Laufe des Tages und Abends…

You might saw the first pictures about my trip to Santa Monica on my Instagram pictures, so I wanted to add some more pictures about this beautiful place. I really like the beach, to see all the different people or just walk on the beach…
Santa Monica pier was not so crowded as I remembered it from the years before, but still a very nice and popular place. All the nice shops, different restaurants and the interesting looks of some people – and you can see I enjoyed icecream at Ben & Jerry and later a Frappuccino at Starbucks…

Hello everyone, another posting of my trip to California, this time with pictures of the famous Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. After a 30 minute drive from the beaches, I reached this great spot.
I visited it a few years before and knew they had a great Japanese restaurant inside, but this was closed :-( … so searching another possibility for the evening…
Kodak Theatre is famous for the Oscars ceremony, shopping possibilites, the Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre (with all the hand and footprints in concrete) and more. I will go to breakfast now (here it is 8.30am) and continue adding pictures later.
How to describe a hotel and heaven? This time it was very easy… mostly I finished the rating of a hotel on the end of my postings, but this time I want to ask you? If you book for one night and extend your stay twice – isn’t it opinion enough?
I had the chance to stay first for one night in the need Starwood Westin property hotel – The “Westin Lake Las Vegas” in Henderson, Nevada – only 20 minutes outside of Las Vegas, Nevada on a hotel brand new on the Starwood property and formarly known as Loews Hotel. My first opinion was – too far away from Las Vegas, but it is only a 20 minute drive to the Strip and they offer complementary shuttle services to the Strip. So no problem.
I arrived at the Westin Lake Las Vegas hotel, which looks like a huge arabic golf resort, with great entrance (offering self+valet parking) and were guided to the Front desk directly. A friendly greeting and the information that my room was ready I always like to hear. They upgraded me to a wonderful suite with great view of the Lake Las Vegas… The room was really nice, but not the best on this Westin Lake Las Vegas property. Their lounge with arabic touch gives you access to the bar and also great evening view to the lake with fireplaces.
The pool(s) are really huge, warm and impressive – you might already saw the pictures on facebook or instagram during my days, and a small beach gives you access to the lake, where you can rent e.g. kayaks and more.
The restaurants and food is really delicious – awesome service and really good taste (also on In-Room-dining) and wonderful places to relax… but their most advantage (especially when you compare with other Vegas hotels) are the people.
