It is time again to leave Munich for a short time and to go to the Rigby & Peller Opening in Dusseldorf, to spend some time in Cologne and for a stopover in Frankfurt for a few meetings. Seems to become a few really busy hours.
This time I am nearly finished with my preparations for the trip and I wanted to share a few impressions of my outfits before showing you pictures the next days, wearing them.

Yesterday I received a surprising gift with a beautiful fragrance by Vera Wang. I saw the commercial a few weeks ago, with a great and famous actress Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl, The Roommate) on TV and also on Youtube (attached below).
The package is really nice designed, included a small Eau de Parfum of Lovestruck 30ml and a Bodylotion 75ml and Shower gel of 75ml. The bottle with the roses gives a special attention and underscore the combination of this fragrance.
Lovestruck by Vera Wang is a sparkling floral – with great notes of pink guava and mandarin and also a great bouquet of tuberose and lotus blossom. For the next warming weeks, this might become my personal favorite for the day… to go to work, to meet friends, etc. – for the evening I will select a different fragrance.

Lovestruck von Vera Wang ist eine begeisterte Flora, mit tollen Spitzen von Pink Guave und Mandarin und ebenso ein tolles Bouquet von Tuberose und Lotusblüte. Für die nächsten wärmenden Wochen, ist dieses sicherlich einer meiner favorisierten Düfte für den Tag, für die Arbeit oder treffen mit Freunden – für den Abend werde ich einen anderen Duft wählen…
During my New York days the Sunday was perfect for a cultural day with visiting a museum. I always try to visit one or two museums in cities, I visit for a few days and this time I decided for the American Museum of National History which was also the location of the 2006 movie “Night in the Museum – Part I” with Ben Stiller.
I really like the museum and it is really huge (about 4 blocks) including the large planetarium with a brilliant show and two IMAX theaters. Remembering the times, visiting a musuem with a huge map and floor plan and still not sure where to go or where to find the things you are most interested in? At this museum it is completely different. During registration they introduce you to the WLAN-service of the museum and also all the free apps and guides. Just select on the index where you want to go and you will get walking directions… Really funny for a museum!
You will find in different areas all about the American history, from the first people arriving, about the nature, the oceans up to the way to space and moon. This museum offers also fantastic relaxing and sitting areas all around with impressive views about Manhattan and Central Park (where I made my next stop – see posting below). If you have time in New York and want to take a look on a great museum – you should visit the American Museum of National History. Ticket price between 19 and 30 USD.

Translate: Während meiner Tage in New York war der Sonntag perfekt für einen “kulturellen” Tag mit einem Besuch im Museum. Ich vesuche immer, ein oder zwei Museum oder ähnliches zu besuchen, wenn ich für mehrere Tage in einer Stadt bin und diesmal habe ich mich für das American Museum of National History entschieden, welches auch der Drehort für den 2006-Film “Nacht im Museum – Teil 1″ mit Ben Stiller war.
Das Museum ist wirklich sehr schön und sehr groß (4 Straßenblöcke) und enthält auch das große Planetarium mit einer tollen, informativen Show und zwei IMAX Theaters. Erinnert Ihr auch noch an die Zeiten, wo man mit großen Plänen und Prospekten gesucht hat, wie man laufen muss und wo es was gibt? Dieses Museum ist komplett anders. Während der Registrierung wird man bereits auf das kostenlose WLan hingewiesen und erhält Zugriff auf alle Apps. Einfach nur noch auswählen was man sehen möchte und man wird sofort dort hingeführt. Wirklich amüsant für ein Museum.
Ihr findet im Museum die verschiedensten Bereiche der amerikanischen Geschichte, von den ersten Menschen, über die Natur, die Ozeane und den Weg ins Weltall und zum Mond. Das Museum bietet daneben tolle Möglichkeiten zum Relaxen und Entspannen mit atemberaubenden Blicken über Manhattan und den Central Park (wo ich anschließend war – siehe Posting weiter unten). Wenn Ihr Zeit in New York habt und einmal ins Museum möchtet – solltet Ihr auch dieses Museum einmal ansehen. Eintrittspreis zwischen 19 und 30 USD.

Whenever I am in New York, I try to visit Central Park for an hour or two, to relax and just to enjoy this beautiful spot in the middle of Manhattan. Still unbelievable for me, how huge the Central Park is and on my sixth visit of the Park there are still many places to discover.
This time I entered the Park directly after leaving the National Museum of National History and walked to the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, about 10 blocks in the North of the Entrance.
It was a Sunday afternoon, but the Park was not so busy, as expected and great to see people walking with their dogs, walking around or playing football or soccer. Dressed this time with black coat and leopard scarf (both Hugo Boss).

Translate: Jedes Mal wenn ich New York besuche, versuche ich einen kleinen Stop für 1-2 Stunden im Central Park zu machen und einfach zu entspannen, mitten in New York. Immer noch unglaublich, wie groß der Park mitten in der Stadt ist und wie viele Plätze ich noch immer entdecken kann.
Dieses Mal habe ich den Besuch direkt nach dem Besichtigung des National Museums of National History angefangen und bin zum Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir gegangen, ca. 10 Blocks nördlich vom Eingang.
Es war ein Sonntagnachmittag, aber der Park war nicht so voll wie erwartet, primär nur Leute mit Hunden, Spaziergänger und einige Menschen die Football oder Fussball gespielt haben. Dieses Mal gekleidet mit schwarzem Mantel und Leopardenschal (beides Hugo Boss).
The Westin New York at Times Square was for the fifth time, my hotel for my New York visit. I really like the hotel and prefer to come back to hotels I already know. It is located very close to Broadway and Times Square (about 1-2 minutes) and one of the major Metro-hubs is directly below the hotel on 42nd street.
For people who also prefer to travel by Bus, the Port Authority is on the opposite street, so whereever you want to go in Manhattan, you have the perfect connection. As a long-term member on Starwood Hotels & Resorts, I prefer to select hotels of their program with over 1,000 hotels worldwide. You have a special treatment for their frequent travellers and I will always get rooms on higher floors which I prefer totally at the Westin New York at Times Square.
The rooms have a size of approx. 30-40qm, which is enough for a city like New York, they are with the typical modern Westin style, with working desk and internet connection, free bottles of water of coffee and offer a renovated Club-floor with free breakfast. You will still have the huge front desk with sitting areas on the 2nd floors and a few dining possibilites (I prefer to eat outside the hotels, New York offers you so many great restaurants) – the staff is typical NYC-style, the rooms are clean, but it is not a complete new hotel…
Being on big cities for me is always brilliant, all the different cultures, the brilliant views (like the one I had during my days directly on the Empire State Building) and possibilites, to go to theaters, cinema (inside the hotel building, also Starbucks). You will see my view on the short videoclip on the end… I am sure I will come back to NYC and stay again at the Westin New York at Times Square.

Translate: Das Westin New York at Times Square war nun für mich zum fünften Mal das Hotel für meinen Besuch in New York City. Mir persönlich gefällt das Hotel relativ gut und kenne es nun schon ganz gut. Es ist direkt am Broadway und Times Square gelegen (ca. 1-2 Minuten Fussweg) und eine Metro Station mit allen wichtigen Verbindungen ist direkt unter dem Hotel.
Für Menschen die auch gerne mit dem Bus reisen, die Port Authority ist auf der gegenüberliegenden Straße, wohin man auch immer in Manhattan möchte, die Anschlüsse sind perfekt. Als ein langjähriges Mitglied von Starwood Hotels & Resorts, bevorzuge ich immer wieder eines der über 1000 Hotels aus diesem Programm. Es gibt in der Regel immer wieder besondere Begrüssungen für häufige Gäste, in der Regel immer Zimmer auf den hohen Etagen, die mir immer wieder im Westin Times Square gefallen.
Die Zimmer haben eine Größe von 30-40qm, welches für New York ausreicht, den typischen Westin-Hotel-Style, mit Arbeitsplatz und Internet, kostenlosem Wasser und Kaffee und eine neue renovierte Club-Lounge mit kostemlosen Frühstück. Der Empfang befindet sich in der zweiten Etage mit ausreichend Sitzgelegenheiten und einigen Restaurants (Ich bevorzuge außerhalb des Hotels zu essen, New York bietet viele tolle Möglichkeiten) – das Personal ist typischer NYC-Style, die Zimmer sind sauber, aber es ist kein komplett neues Hotel mehr…
Ich genieße es in Großstädten die unterschiedlichen Kulturen kennen zu lernen, die tollen Aussichten (so wie diesmal wieder mit direktem Blick auf das Empire State Building) und die Möglichkeiten ins Theater, Kino (direkt im Hotel, genauso wie Starbucks) zu gehen. Meine Aussicht könnt Ihr auch auf dem kurzen Videoclip sehen und ich werde wohl auch das nächste Mal wieder im Westin New York Times Square übernachten.
