The Westin Grand Hotel Munich is for a special place – it is always a bit like coming home. For years the Westin Grand Hotel Munich was my stop in Munich, whenever I had to go to Munich – I didn’t need to search for another hotel, a little bit closer to the city, because this hotel had the total package.
This time – living in Munich – I had the chance for an additional stay there and wanted to relax, wellness, dinner, breakfast – just a day off. After a 20 minute trip to the hotel, checkin was really friendly again (thanks Maximilian) and my beautiful room on the 20th floor was ready, bringing my small luggage to the room (for the case that I might forget something, I can drive home quickly
) and going to their beautiful Club Lounge on the 23rd floor with beautiful view over Munich for a Cappuccino and a small piece of cake and for the major reason and the most import spot on this hotel – to meet the lovely and perfect ladies of “Guest Relations”. I know these ladies for years and stay in different hotels worldwide, but this team is the best for years! They will take care on their frequent and club guest – and will make sure, that all your stays are perfect. The quality they offer to you over the years is unbelievable and was the major point for me – staying at the Westin Grand Hotel Munich. (I know from other guests, if they will remove them, I am sure they will loose a lot of frequent and status guests…)
My room was upgraded to a beautiful Westin Suite, as you can see, with a working desk (perfect to write these posts) and a beautiful sitting area – on the other side you will have sleeping area with a huge bathroom, perfect for a short or longer stay – and two of the major things I really enjoy on travelling, bottles of water, coffee machine and small amenities with greeting card.
Visiting their pan-asian Restaurant “Zen” is always a place you have to go (you might saw already the pictures of my Suhsi-dinners on Instagram) or if you prefer traditional bavarian food, you can visit their second restaurant called “Paulaner“.
The renovated Spa-Area is really beautiful – especially for a hotel – with a great gym and beautiful pool (unfortunately the jacuzzi is inside the pool, so the water is cold). Breakfast is still very good (you might read my great review of the Westin Grand Hotel Berlin with their breakfast) and most of the breakfast-team is really friendly and helpful for years.
Overall it is still a great spot in Munich to stay – especially if you are in contact with Guest Relations – they are unbelivable (that is why I still will recommend the hotel to my friends and family). Unfortunately a few of the real best team members of other departments left the hotel during the last years and went to other hotels in Munich or other companies around Munich for different reasons
… but you should give this property a try if you want to visit Munich!
